Crystal McMillan, MA, RNCP, CFMP (Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner, Registered Nutrition Consultant)

Crystal2Crystal McMillan, owner and operator of Bare Roots Natural Health and Yoga Centre is a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner and Registered Nutrition Consultant. Functional Medicine is a true combination of conventional medicine and other alternative and complementary therapies. It acknowledges the strengths of conventional medicine for acute and crisis-care, but also realizes that this approach does not have the tools for preventing and treating chronic diseases. Unlike conventional medicine practices, we tap into all the tools of healing, drawing from Western, Eastern, alternative, preventative and integrative medical practices to help our patients heal. By pulling from all of these approaches and by paying special attention to diet, exercise, nutrition, supplementation and the health of the mind, we’re not just providing a band-aid approach, we’re giving tools to create sustainable wellness and vitality. Crystal is an active member of the International Organization of Nutritional Consultants (IONC) and has been practicing for 15 years. Crystal invites you to take advantage of our services ranging from individual consultations to group and corporate presentations and other nutritional programs. To view our services click here….

Teresa Stanley, NNCP (Natural Nutrition – Clinical Practitioner)

unnamedA cancer survivor and vegetarian for over thirty years, I believe that a nutritious diet is essential for maintaining a healthy life as well as for supporting the healing process for many dis-eases.  In fact, I attribute my own recovery to the dietary choices I have made. I have a passion for designing and cooking delicious recipes, especially ones that are plant-based.  Research reveals that a plant-based diet contributes to overall health and may prevent some of the major illnesses people experience today.  However, many just don’t know where to begin when it comes to making the transition; that they have to trade “good tasting” food for “good for you” food.

Whether you want to change your existing diet to address a specific health issue, feel more energetic, lose some weight, or simply need some strategies for making healthier food choices,  it would be my pleasure to  help you! In the words of Hippocrates, the father of medicine, “let food be they medicine and medicine be thy food.” I can show you how.

I have recently completed my Diploma in Applied Nutrition from Alive Academy and received my professional designation NNCP (Natural Nutritionist – Clinical Practitioner) which indicates that I am not only educated in natural or holistic nutrition, I am committed to conducting a professional practice and continuing to learn and grow in my chosen field. As well, I am working in accordance with an established Code of Ethics and following a defined Scope of Practice.
